Today I honor World Adoption Day which, this year, is November 9th. This special day raises awareness for adoption and about the number of children who need loving parents who can care for them. In addition, many organizations use the opportunity to help raise funds to cover the administrative costs of adoption for families who want to adopt but can’t afford to.
Having placed my baby up for adoption as an unwed teenager, I am forever grateful to the unknown couple who opened their hearts and home to my baby girl and to the church which gave me loving care and friendship, along with a place to live.
The song I chose for today is Circle of Life from the Lion King. This version, performed by Alex Boyé and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, is one of my favorites.
